Recipe Round-up: 20 Easy Home-Cooked Dinners

Some of the most common complaints I hear about eating a real food diet – “It’s too hard!” or “I don’t have enough time to cook!” Well, if that sounds like you, I’m here to help you out – with something called a recipe round-up.

I’ve got an entire article devoted to meal planning on my other site called Easy Peasy Meal Planning in which I tell you exactly how I plan our weekly meals using dinner recipes and have the leftovers for our breakfasts and lunches during the week. So this recipe round-up includes 20 easy dinner recipes broken up into categories: slow cooker dishes, quick weeknight dishes and batch cooking dishes.

Easy Slow Cooker Dishes

Using a slow cooker enables you to throw ingredients together first thing in the morning and come home to a warm, delicious home cooked meal!

Batch cooking means making multiple dishes at once, usually done on a weekend day, so you can eat them throughout the week.

Batch cooking is a great option for those of you with a busy work week, packed with a multitude of activities in the evening, leaving you with no time to cook.

Additionally, because you will be making fewer decisions during the week, batch cooking increases willpower and helps people stay on track.

Trouble-free Weeknight Dishes

I love dishes that I can have on the table in 30 minutes or less!

As a child, I enjoyed having breakfast for dinner when my dad travelled out of town for business. It’s easy to get a delicious breakfast dish on the table quickly on weeknights so I’ve included a couple of frittata recipes. Frittatas are awesome because you can add in so many veggies.

Fish is another great option as it takes usually less than 15 minutes to cook. I keep wild caught frozen filets on hand so I can take them out of the freezer and put in the refrigerator to defrost in the morning before I leave. They’re thawed and ready to cook by the time I get home.
